{"product_id":"soda-fired-jar-round-seconds-small-superficial-cracks","title":"Soda Fired Jar round Seconds! Small superficial cracks","description":"Seconds version of my usual sugar jars. This was a test batch of clay and the knobs on the lids developed small cracks. I've attempted to pull them apart from the lid but they're quite sturdy, so only superficial cracks. Last photos show them in detail, and this was one of the most apparent, some are barely noticeable. Attractive earthy orange\/brown color with small white dots. Normal jar description below:\n\nWheel thrown small jars for sugar\/spice\/etc. The lid is notched to allow a thin spoon\/scoop to sit inside.\n\nThe clay body is mined and mixed locally in Northern CA. Various slips made of locally foraged clays, rocks, and wood ash are applied to the pieces before being fired in a soda kiln. Strong reduction (lack of oxygen) from pieces of wood added to the kiln during the firing and cooling help to bring out the various colors and textures of the clay and sips. This process is very difficult to control, but fun in that each piece is quite different, even if they were fired very near to each other in the kiln. \n\nThe inside is coated in a thin neutral glaze for ease of cleaning. Measures app. 3.5-4\" tall","brand":"Matt Fishman Pottery","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48626490474596,"sku":"06096","price":44.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0577\/1539\/2612\/files\/94cb0a478cd24c2a8e4bb33537325347afb9fc2f38a639edf6e04e65a8171a01.jpg?v=1782231548","url":"https:\/\/theboroughdurham.com\/products\/soda-fired-jar-round-seconds-small-superficial-cracks","provider":"The Borough Durham","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
